Introducing Matka Ferments

We leap into 2022 with a bevy of new arrivals. First in the door are some wonderfully restorative non-alcoholic ferments from Matka, based in Edinburgh.

Founded just over a year ago by one of our good friends, Anna, who is part of the team at the excellent Timberyard, Matka produce a range of complex and delicious soft drinks based around kombucha. Wanting to find an interesting alternative to the often oversugared and overcaffeinated beverages that dominate the soft drink arena, Anna slowly ferments foraged and organically sourced ingredients for up to 3 weeks creating drinks with a balanced acidity that perfectly accompany a meal.

We have received 3 of her initial creations, some of which are only going to be around for a short period due to the ingredients’ seasonality. These are now available for our trade customers — for more information please get in touch via sales@beattieandroberts.com.
