New Arrivals from Es d’Aqui

Formerly working in conventional wineries and vineyards, Jean-Louis Pinto met his mentor and friend, Anthony Tortul of La Sorga in 2010 and became inspired by living wines. Soon after, Jean-Louis began his own winemaking project under the name Es d’Aqui. The name translates from Spanish to ‘from here,’ referencing Pinto’s mission to keep terroir as the guiding principle of his winemaking style.

With an uncompromising dedication to sourcing and vinification, Jean-Louis meticulously harvests grapes from selected organic and biodynamic vineyards across the diverse terroirs of Languedoc. Each vineyard, carefully chosen for its characteristic terroir, contributes to the kaleidoscopic range of wines that Jean-Louis is celebrated for.

In a small cellar beneath his house, Jean-Louis embraces a philosophy of intuition-led vinification. His approach is less about rigid methodology and more about harnessing his deep understanding of the land and the grapes. This intuitive process allows each vintage to express its true potential, resulting in wines that are both delicious and deeply expressive of their origin, yet unburdened by appellation-led dogma.

Constantly searching for new ways to improve the quality of his production, Jean-Louis, over the past few years, has invested heavily in new vessels for élevage, including many sandstone jarres. His wines have never been short of character but the latest releases have a newfound clarity and purity that make them some of his finest to date.

The new releases are now available to drink in or take away at Cadet, or for home delivery in our online shop.
